About

I am a portrait photographer and author, born on July 1, 1953, in the Moulovi Bazar area of Old Dhaka. I began my journey in photography during my teenage years, starting portrait photography in 1972 when this genre was not yet familiar and landscape photography was more popular. I have had the privilege of documenting the faces and stories of Bangladesh's literary and cultural figures throughout my career, believing that every portrait holds a story worth preserving.

Philosophy

For me, photography has always been about quiet observation and patient listening. I try to capture not just how people look, but something of who they are. Each photograph is a small attempt to understand and preserve a moment in time. I consider myself fortunate to have worked with many remarkable individuals who have shaped our cultural landscape, and I hope my photographs serve as a modest record of their contributions.
